Jun 03, 2020 I'm trying to download the Mojave installer in order to install it on an external HD. I tried the app store and searching for Mojave didn't help. I tried downloading Mojave 10.14.6 update and other versions from the apple support page but when I open the pkg it advises I need Mojave 10.14. Make a bootable installer drive: The quick way. Connect your drive to your Mac. Launch Install Disk Creator. In the main window, you’ll see a pop-up menu under Select the volume to become the installer. Click on the menu and select your drive. Under the pop-up menu, you’ll see.
Find the appropriate download link in the upgrade instructions for each macOS version:
macOS Catalina, macOS Mojave, ormacOS High Sierra
Installers for each of these macOS versions download directly to your Applications folder as an app named Install macOS Catalina, Install macOS Mojave, or Install macOS High Sierra. If the installer opens after downloading, quit it without continuing installation. Important: To get the correct installer, download from a Mac that is using macOS Sierra 10.12.5 or later, or El Capitan 10.11.6. Enterprise administrators, please download from Apple, not a locally hosted software-update server.

- Oct 28, 2019 When trying to re-download 10.15, 10.14.6 or 10.13.6 it would always fail if I used sudo. I tried 10.15 again by copying the command “softwareupdate –fetch-full-installer –full-installer-version 10.15” and by accident didn’t add sudo and it downloaded fine.
OS X El Capitan
El Capitan downloads as a disk image. On a Mac that is compatible with El Capitan, open the disk image and run the installer within, named InstallMacOSX.pkg. It installs an app named Install OS X El Capitan into your Applications folder. You will create the bootable installer from this app, not from the disk image or .pkg installer.
